The 1871 Berkeley Church is one of SDE Weddings’ all-time favourite wedding settings for videography and cinematography in Toronto’s downtown, and one particular wedding that drew us in and made us fall in love with the quaint intimacy of the oft-eschewed ‘small scale’ wedding celebration was that of Michelle and Robert, a couple who were wed on November 2nd, 2013. Michelle and Roberts’ vows to one another were enough to warm even the coldest of autumn days, and made for a fantastic wedding reception and celebration to capture on film.
Indeed, the cold November morning of the couples’ big day began heartily enough, with a warm wedding gesture between Michelle and Robert, and a wonderful sequence of scenes for our videographers. The beloved couple aptly exchanged wedding day letters and gifts as the they hurriedly prepared at their hotel bridal suites of Toronto’s Hilton Garden Inn, ever eager for the ceremony and celebration to come. Robert surprisingly found himself welcoming a polished acoustic guitar as his gift from Michelle, a lovely token which would readily make itself helpful during the reception.
Come noontime, Michelle and Robert arrived in separate entourages at the Berkeley Church, and greeted each other with a beautiful first look under the bright and serene auspices of the church’s stained glass windows; a perfect shot of the perfect moment, made timeless with help from our videographers and cinematographers. Altogether, the ceremony set in the church’s mezzanine was a sight to behold. Michelle and Robert were finally wed in a simple and elegant ceremony among a handful of the couples’ closest family and friends, sealing their solemn vows for a life ahead together, and an intimate celebration soon to come.
One of the best shots our videographers took from Michelle and Robert’s wedding, if you recall the small mention earlier, was that of Michelle’s morning gift of an acoustic guitar being played lovingly during the evening reception by Robert to the tune of a sentimental song specially for his beloved bride. A charming tale of a wedding gift that came round full circle. Interestingly enough, Robert’s voice has an uncanny resemblance to that of Canadian alt-rock legend Matthew Good. You can preview this and many more of our videographers’ favorite moments in the accompanying highlight reel.
All in all, Michelle and Robert’s joyful evening with loved ones would be the highlight of their wedding celebration. With plenty of well-wished blessings from friends and family, and their own speeches of thanks and gratitude captured by our videographers, the evening ended rightfully on a high note. A long night of dancing and celebration from the first few hours of the evening to the earliest morning’s wake served as the perfect denouement for Michelle and Robert’s wedding day festivities. In the end, we here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography and cinematography group, wish Michelle and Robert a long and wondrous life together, and hope that the two will always keep the warmth of their wedding day ever close to their hearts.
