For us here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photo-booth rental group, the start of a brand new year is always the most tumultuous, uncertain yet exciting time. With new horizons ahead and a fresh new start, the beginning of a new year is the best time as ever to create new plans, explore new things and look forward to the future. So when we worked with Jayran & Simon on their early-season wedding day just this past January 23rd, 2016, we knew from the start that such a spirited young couple would have nothing but the brightest of futures to look forward to. With a beautiful Orthodox Christian wedding ceremony at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Richmond Hill – just north of Toronto – and a likewise wonderful wedding celebration held at The Venetian Banquet & Hospitality Centre in Vaughan, an eager couple starting their lives anew through wedding vows couldn’t ask for anything better! Jayran & Simon’s wedding was special for our videographers and cinematographers as well. Apart from an opportunity to shoot beautiful snowy scenes during the peak of Canada’s characteristically cold winters, our videographers and cinematographers had taken the opportunity to make clever and creative use of SDE Weddings’ very own drone cameras to film gorgeously breathtaking panoramic scenes as we trailed Jayran & Simon throughout their winter Armenian wedding day. So scroll further to learn more about Jayran & Simon, their wonderful Armenian wedding in a winter wonderland, and take a peak at our highlight footage from chilling heights!

A cold winter morning and a bright frosty sky would begin the day for our videographers and cinematographers as we greeted Jayran & Simon as they were both busily preparing for the big day ahead. For a peculiar winter day, the sun was out and shone brightly throughout the daylight hours, luckily making for the best possible weather conditions for our videographers and cinematographers for winter Armenian wedding filming. In the highlight, you can catch several glimpses of one of the more novel scenes we’ve been capturing on our cameras lately; a full panoramic view of the many wedding day locales we visited throughout the day One favorite shot of ours was of the aerial view of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church during the morning hours just before wedding day proceedings commenced. A breathtakingly beautiful view from high up, and the perfect shot to segue to the start of Jayran & Simon’s wedding ceremony.

Orthodox Christian churches are a favorite of ours here at SDE Weddings. With such gorgeous architecture and beautiful religious iconography and art all about the chapel walls and ceiling, our videographers and cinematographers took the liberty of filming several artistic shots in St. George prior to the ceremony, many of which you can preview in the highlight reel. Accompanying such a beautiful setting, an equally magnificent wedding ceremony for Jayran & Simon as our lenses captured every moment; from the entourage’s entrance from the elements outside to the traditional Armenian wedding rites following Orthodox tradition. In the end, what summed it all up was another favorite scene of our videographers and cinematographers, of Jayran & Simon now as husband and wife, sealing the ceremony with a magnificent first kiss as the church filled with roaring applause from the newlywed couple’s closest family and friends.

For the afternoon agenda, we meet the winter weather again, now in a more serene and secluded setting. Filming several romantic shots of Jayran & Simon at Vaughan’s Kortright Centre for Conservation. A breathtakingly stunning setting, of a winter forest of bare trees cascading underneath the light of a frosted sky and a brightly shining sun. Many beautiful shots that words simply can’t describe – but our highlight reel sure can! We took this opportunity as well to film more overview shots taken via drone camera of a perfect bright winter sky and Jayran & Simon’s frozen forest getaway below.

And for a perfect end to a perfect winter Armenian wedding day, the newlyweds Jayran & Simon held their after-ceremony celebration at an old favorite of ours, The Venetian Banquet & Hospitality Centre in Vaughan. Our videographers and cinematographers made good use of the many eclectic and energetic scenes from the evening’s celebration. From the customary cake-cutting to the couple hoisted up on high on an open ballroom dancefloor, and finally, a solemn and romantic slow dance to put a perfect touch to a sentimental tale. Looking back on our work with Jayran & Simon, for us here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photo-booth group, we were truly blessed with such an ideal opportunity to capture such wonderful memories with such a wonderful couple on a truly unique winter Armenian wedding setting. In the end, we truly wish Jayran & Simon the very best in their newfound lives together, and hope that every new year from now on will always bring a fresh new beginning full of endless possibilities.
