The proverbial ‘winter glow’ during the twilight hours of a cold day is one of the more beautiful sights seen throughout this time of year. And with our work for Gianne & Anton during their winter wedding, we here at SDE Weddings were elated with the ‘glowing’ reviews we received from the couple & their guests. Being Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photobooth company, our work with Gianne & Anton spanned each and every one of these facets of our expertise, and made for an unforgettable experience for our videographers and cinematographers. A young and energetic Filipino couple hailing from Mississauga, Gianne & Anton held their wedding earlier this month on February 6th, 2015, on a frigidly cold but nonetheless bright and beautiful winter day. The beloved bride & groom held their ceremonies at Mississauga’s Cristo Rei Parish, and ended the evening with a grand reception at the Harbour Banquet & Conference Centre in Oakville. Gianne & Anton came to us for the full ensemble of an entire day of coverage, our namesake same-day-edit service and an always-fun photobooth to compliment an evening of liveliness and fun. Staying true to a theme, Gianne & Anton’s wedding day, from the early morning’s moments, to the late evening’s eventual end, were filled with a gorgeously glowing ‘winter’ aura. The first thing our videographers and cinematographers noticed during the early hours of the morning was a clear and perfect blue sky during a cold February day, quite a rarity given the weather we’ve been getting lately, and quite a blessing for Gianne & Anton for their wedding day ahead. A lovely shot, and indeed the first one featured in the highlight reel, is a custom time-lapse our videographers and cinematographers made of the harbourfront, which was filmed during mid-day. In any case, filming for the morning went ‘well’, with Gianne ‘welling’ up a river while reading through the love letter written for her by her husband-to-be. Our videographers and cinematographers made sure to fully tell the morning’s story through an expressive sequence which features footage of Gianna’s fitting of her beautiful wedding gown, and Anton with the groomsmen getting ready for the day ahead.

For the wedding ceremony, Gianne & Anton chose the beautiful Cristo Rei Parish as the site for their holy matrimony. A shot that our videographers and cinematographers were particularly pleased with (and one that we’ve begun incorporating more of) is the slow shot of the parish altar in full view, brightly lit from the vantage point of the wedding aisle with bride & groom positioned right in centre. Along with that, an interesting sequence of shots of the couple as they were wrapped together with a glass rosary, truly symbolic of Gianne & Anton’s two separate fates becoming intertwined under the altar. What truly stood out, of course, was the couple’s commemorative first kiss as newly pronounced husband and wife. This shot was rather special, as our videographers and cinematographers chose to include the raw audio of the crowd’s reaction, which makes for a truly immersive film experience for the highlight reel.

Along with the time-lapse of the harbourfront, our videographers and cinematographers also held a requested video-shoot with the beloved newlywed couple and their bridesmaids & groomsmen as they gathered to take several expressive shots which were featured in the same-day-edit. With equal parts swagger, style and grace, Gianne & Anton and their entourage re-enacted something that looked like a scene from ‘West Side Story’. With an altogether uplifted mood, the wedding celebrants brought their lively energy to the evening’s celebration, held at Oakville’s Harbour Banquet & Conference Centre. Our videographers’ first time filming at this particular location, we were quite impressed with an absolutely gorgeous lighting arrangement which truly set a romantic mood; a backdrop of subdued ambient lights with the main area spectacularly illuminated with candlelight. With our same-day-edit from the day’s footage featured on the main stage, and a photobooth care of yours-truly to satiate the basic human urge for silly snapshots, we at SDE Weddings had a tremendous time with Gianne & Anton and their guests. First, I wanted to start off by saying how AMAZING they are. They are vey professional, creative and … AMAZING at what they do. The team went out of their way to make sure we have a great experience.
