For us here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photo-booth rental group, we know that the old idiom holds true; that “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Whether its separation through distance in both space and time, a truly exceptional relationship between two people can overcome any such challenge – to go the extra mile, bridge every gap and find unity in a common unshakable and unbreakable bond born from love. Such was the story of Joanne & Edward, for which our videographers and cinematographers had the utmost pleasure in working with for their wedding just this past October 10th, 2015 held at the ever-beautiful Paradise Banquet Hall & Convention Centre in Vaughan, just a stone’s throw away from Toronto. Joanne & Edward, meeting in person all the way on the other side of the continent in Vancouver, had held together a long distance relationship for the longest time, so it’s no surprise that the ever-eager pair were understandably ecstatic that they would finally consummate the bond that’s been building up between the two of them, tying the knot in the most splendid of fashions in a favored venue of our videographers and cinematographers and featuring a same-day-edit made by yours truly for the special occasion which you can preview below. So join us as we recall our time with Joanne & Edward on their auspicious autumn wedding celebration, and learn just how the power of love can overcome all odds, all distances and all obstacles to create something truly beautiful and magical.

Joanne & Edward’s magical wedding day began with morning’s preparations, as our videographers and cinematographers arrived to capture all the exciting and unique scenes that make up a traditional Chinese wedding; the door games and the tea ceremony in particular. Always a favorite of our videographers and cinematographers, the slapstick fun of the wedding day door games always guarantee to put a smile on anyone’s face. In an interesting editing choice, our videographers and cinematographers had chosen to play through the early morning’s love letter readings between Joanne & Edward alongside the door games footage, making for a vibrant contrast between the couple’s deepest feelings laid bare and how such loving and heartfelt emotion radiates brilliantly to their closest friends and family. In the same-day-edit highlight reel, you can listen to Joanne recall the first day she had unwittingly met her husband to be. Who could tell that one day they’d be getting married? An interesting slice of serendipity to start the morning.

A favorite scene of our videographers and cinematographers, one that truly stands out in the highlight reel, was of the couple’s formal first look at a long-standing favorite park locale of ours, Richmond Hill’s eponymous named Richmond Green park. On a gorgeous and spotless autumn morning, Joanne & Edward meeting on their wedding day by the harbor. Our videographers and cinematographers incorporating a perfect overhead view of the couple’s first glance, an absolutely magical moment which you can witness for yourself in the highlight reel! Particularly unique about Joanne & Edward’s highlight is that, since it had been made as a same-day-edit to play for the late evening’s festivities, we had included plenty of footage of the bride and groom celebrating alongside their bridesmaids and groomsmen in Richmond Green park. Indeed, fun and excitement for Joanne & Edward and their closest friends would aptly fill the entire day on such a special occasion, and thus made for absolutely stellar footage for the same-day-edit reel for the couple’s late evening celebration.

Joanne & Edward are a truly lucky couple, not just in how they’d found perfect matches, but that their wedding day’s weather made for perfect scenes and a perfect outdoor ceremony at Vaughan’s very own Paradise Banquet Hall & Convention Centre. Not often do our videographers and cinematographers film outdoor ceremonies in October, Joanne & Edward’s wedding nonetheless came out brilliantly. And with the couple’s first kiss and unanimous applause from a crowd of their closest friends and family, Joanne & Edward wound finally complete their bond that’s stood the test of distance and time, finally becoming one. And with a triumphant wedding ceremony made complete, our videographers and cinematographers had chosen the perfect transition of the newlyweds’ walk back down the aisle and their extravagant entrance into their wedding day banquet hall for an all-night celebration to commemorate the special day. Interestingly enough, aside from our very own same-day-edit shown during the evening, the couple had also filmed Edward’s proposal to Joanne. Two very special films making the silver-screen to complete the night. And with the same vibrant energy through which Joanne & Edward made their banquet hall entrance onto many more scenes of the newlyweds on the dance floor, we here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photo-booth rental group, are ever reminded just how precious these memories are between friends and family. That such magical days as a wedding day should be treasured, and when experienced, truly enjoyed in the fullest. In the end, we wish Joanne & Edward the very best in their lives together, and hope that our work with them on their wonderful wedding day will always remain close to their hearts throughout their lives.
