We here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photobooth rental group, love to put a smile on people’s faces. Whether through our work on hand throughout the countless wedding days we’ve filmed, or through our work in the editing and crafting a perfect film to share with loved ones. That’s why we at SDE Weddings were grinning from ear-to-ear as we filmed one of our favorite events of the year so far; that is, the wedding day of Allison & Dan held at Toronto’s famous distillery district in The Fermenting Cellar, a unique venue choice and one of our videographers and cinematographers’ new favorites this year alone. Allison & Dan, two fresh faces straight out of dentistry school, are taking one of the most important first steps in their lives together. And we here at SDE Weddings were absolutely thrilled that they chose our services to help make their special day complete. Scroll further and share a smile with Allison & Dan and learn more about their wonderful wedding day, the many favorite scenes of our videographers and cinematographers, and indulge in a little piece of the magic through our highlight reel below.

Filming for our videographers and cinematographers began on a beautiful and bright late-September day, at the cusp of fall’s beginnings and the end of summer’s sojourn, when our crew arrived at Allison & Dan’s separate camps to document their morning rituals. Of getting ready for the big day ahead, and a life happily-ever-after to come. Interestingly enough, our videographers and cinematographers had found themselves in diametrically opposed sides of Toronto proper; with Allison’s preparations held at the Omni King Edward Hotel on King St. East and Dan’s suiting-up at One King West Hotel on King St. West. Both situated at the heart of downtown Toronto, a charming juxtaposition to their small-town home in northern Ontario. The couple, once fitted up prim, proper and perfect for the day, looked stunningly sharp for our videographers and cinematographers as we filmed several morning shots just prior to the ceremony. To establish a floral motif, we feature the bride Allison with bouquet on hand and transition in the highlight reel to the groom Dan as he fits on a corset of a single flower onto his lapel. A particularly unique shot was of Dan and his groomsmen making their trek through downtown Toronto as they proceeded to Allison’s camp at the King Edward Hotel. Topping that, Allison & Dan’s first look, a favorite of ours and featured in the highlight reel, as they greet one another in a very cute scene of two best friends starting the journey of a lifetime together. A sentimental and candid scene captured by our videographers and cinematographers, of a perfect moment of a perfect day.
For the ceremonial venue, Allison & Dan wisely chose The Fermenting Cellar at the heart of Toronto’s distillery district for both their wedding ceremony and reception afterwards. The Fermenting Cellar brought a rustic and historical atmosphere enveloped in bright liveliness and a modern energy – an eclectic fusion of styles that can only be achieved in one of the distillery district’s most acclaimed venues. To begin, the cellar itself had been exquisitely decorated for the ceremony. A pathway illuminated by candlelight leading to a truly unique wedding altar. Taking a post-modern motif, of bulbs suspended mid-air against the weathered wall of what had once been a wine cellar aptly suited for the distillery district, re-purposed into one of Toronto’s most unique venues. Indeed, the atmosphere of the cellar itself, paired with the creative choice in lighting, created a dream-like atmosphere that was perfect for Allison & Dan’s wedding ceremony. And of course, to top it all off, a key scene of the highlight reel and a favorite of our videographers and cinematographers was Allison & Dan’s exchange of vows to complete their ceremony. And to that effect, ending their wedding ceremony and sealing their fates with a magnificent and powerful first kiss, a magical moment caught on film – making a moment of a lifetime last for eternity. In the end, a triumphant newlywed couple emerged as Allison & Dan made their way back down the aisle for the post-ceremony celebration to follow.
Making the best out of one of the best venue location possible, Allison & Dan and their closest friends spent some time touring around Toronto’s distillery district for photos and video. We feature several shots of this in our highlight reel, of group shots and of the couple sharing a dance on the cobblestone path that trail’s the historic Toronto locale. And to commence a long evening of celebration, Allison & Dan’s grand entrance back into their venue was also a feature shot, the ever-triumphant newlyweds happily greeting their closest friends and family to much applause from the crowd. Another favorite scene of from our videographers and cinematographers was of Allison & Dan’s first dance. With the cellar cleared, a beautiful scene that made the event for us even more magical – topping it all off with a candid shot of Allison & Dan sharing a kiss. All in all, with a night of liveliness to commemorate Allison & Dan’s special day, we here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photobooth rental group, wish the two newlyweds all the best in their new lives together and hope that the two will always have the brightest of smiles throughout their days.
