“Let’s get to the church, would ya?” – a bit blunt, a bit informal, but every bit beautiful. A contrast which is ever inspiring for us here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photobooth group. A subtle take-away message from our work with Kimberly & Paul, an entrepreneurial couple from Mississauga at the prime of their lives, whose wedding our videographers and cinematographers took part in just this previous October 4th, 2014 at a wedding ceremony held at Toronto’s historical St. Paul’s Basilica, hand-in-hand with an unforgettable reception and celebration at one of our videographers’ and cinematographers’ favoured scenic getaways, Toronto’s very own St. Lawrence Hall. Indeed, Kimberly & Paul’s wedding – and their lives together – emboldens a beautiful contrast: Paul, a manager at Deloitte, and Kim, a specialist in HR, though fastidious and formal in their work, exude a joyful playfulness between them that’s enough to make any hopeless romantic’s heart melt twice-over. So it was up to our videographers and cinematographers to catch, capture and convey this charming quality between the pair, and suffice to say, Kimberly & Paul – through their heartfelt emotions and efervescent character, made it far too easy a task. And in keeping true to the theme of playfulness, Kimberly & Paul had also arranged for our very own photobooth service for their after-ceremony celebration shenanigans. Scroll further to learn more about Kimberly & Paul’s most special of days, a preview of the wedding day’s events in our highlight reel, and more from our videographers and cinematographers on their favorite scenes and what the experience was like to work with such a lively and charmistatic couple on such a hallmark event in their lives.

The theme of contrasts begins, rightfully enough, in morning footage from our videographers and cinematographers: film of the couple’s sentimental love-letter exchange to start off an unforgettable day. In our highlight, we get a lovely quote from Kimberly’s reading of the letter from her beloved Paul, describing himself on the big day as being both “nervous, excited, joyful yet strong and composed at the same time.” Indeed, we at SDE couldn’t come up with a better state of mind to be in on your own wedding day. Keeping this state of mind in mind (heh), our morning’s treks with the bride and groom would soon converge at a most fitting of waypoints: The historic St. Paul’s Basilica. – interestingly enough, we had later filmed again at the famed Basilica not even a month afterwards, and it quickly became a favorite to our videographers and cinematographers. Surrounded in storied stone underneath beautiful sistine-esque imagery, the walk down the aisle was among our videographers and cinematographers’ favourite shots. Though, as many superlatives there are to string in a sentence, let’s let our highlight reel tell it all.

With a beautiful moment forever captured in film, Kimberly & Paul are finally wed to the endearing delight of a crowd composed of the newlywed couple’s closest family and friends. A cute first kiss to top it all off, followed by a torrent of applause. A perfect scene caught by our videographers and cinematographers and featured in the highlight. To follow such a stunning scene, our cinematographers chose a transition of the triumphant couple’s proud walk back down the aisle to a cut directly to the banquet hall’s entrance. But a bit more on that; Kimberly & Paul couldn’t have picked any more perfect a spot, indeed both for their ceremony and celebration, with a banquet held at another historically apt site: Toronto’s famous ‘St. Lawrence Market’ in a familiar hall for our videographers and cinematographers – St. Lawrence Hall just by the iconic St. Lawrence Market.

Having a brief interlude for photographs and video from our videographers and cinematographers to commemorate the day, all around and about the Distillery District, the newlyweds and their guests had finally settled down in the comfy cloisters of St. Lawrence Hall. Awaiting them, of course, was our very own photobooth setup ready and waiting for all the slapstick snapshots the newlywed couple’s closest confidants can conjure. And as a special gift for those very same guests, a sample of premium Madawaska Coffee (for which, as a caffeine connoisseur myself, I wouldn’t mind having a cup or two). And with a caffeine kick, the night’s celebrations were underway. From a cute first-dance for Kimberly & Paul, to featured speeches from family and friends, to an open dancefloor brimming with fun and excitement – Kimberly & Paul’s special day truly lived up to being as special as it could possibly be, and made for impeccable footage for our videographers and cinematographers. So for us here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography, cinematography and photobooth group, we wish Kimberly & Paul the very best in their newly-made life together, and hope that this joint-venture adventure of theirs will truly be a roller-coaster of contrasts from start to finish.
