It’s not often that one comes across a ‘perfect’ couple, in ordinary circumstances anyway. That’s why we here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography and cinematography group, feel almost blessed that we’ve witnessed plenty of ‘perfect’ couples pass through one of life’s largest landmarks, that of their wedding day. Such is why we felt more than blessed to work with Sonia & Mohit on their wedding celebration, that lasted not just one day, but an entire three-day weekend ordeal just a few weeks ago from December 4th, and the weekend of December 6th, 2014 which had a ‘sangeet’ party set at Mississauga’s Verdi Banquet Hall for the first day, and an impressive wedding-weekend spent at the ‘Renaissance Hall’ of Woodbridge’s Château Le Jardin. An extraordinary couple to say the least, our videographers and cinematographers had followed the two throughout their weekend-wedding, and had prepared a Next-Day-Edit to showcase for the final day of their wedding. Turns out, Mohit had something up his sleeve to keep our own film-makers on their toes for the final day. Keep your cursors scrolled to learn more about Sonia & Mohit, our videographers’ and cinematographers’ experience, and the couples’ wonderful weekend wedding.

Sonia & Mohit’s first day, on Thursday December 4th, 2014, was set at Mississauga’s Verdi Banquet Hall, in a very relaxed and casual family atmosphere of a ‘sangeet’ (or ‘music’) party. The banquet hall was decoratively arranged with a plenitude of colours to complement the traditionally vibrant and colourful South Asian wedding celebration, which made for plenty of perfectly colourful shots for our videographers and cinematographers to work with. Keeping true to the casual theme as well, Mohit opted for a relaxed blazer, while Sonia fashioned a fuchsia and azure-coloured kalidar kurta set. The day’s proceedings can be described as an ensemble of song, dance, gift-giving and overall joyful celebration for the bride and groom to be. With such a genuine outpouring of happiness for the couple, our videographers and cinematographers had made sure to authentically capture the evening’s amicable ambiance, of which many of the night’s scenes can be previewed in the highlight reel below.

The ‘second’ day was set two days later, on Saturday, December 6th, which made for the start of a full weekend-wedding celebration for Sonia & Mohit. A change of appearance, but hardly of pace, the second day was that of the “Baraat”, or ‘wedding procession’. Now taking place at the stunning ‘Renaissance Hall’ of the Château Le Jardin Conference & Event Centre in Woodbridge. Sonia & Mohit had traded their casual attire for something a bit more fancy, with Mohit in a light-gold ‘sharwani’ and Sonia in a red-velvet and intricately ornamented golden-laced ‘choli’. Indeed, the overall colour theme of the evening was red and gold, two vibrantly shimmering colours to perfectly fit a vibrant couple on the day of their wedding ceremony. For the morning’s filming of events, our videographers and cinematographers were greeted with a ‘contrast in carriages’ so to speak, with Mohit up and saddled atop a white horse in traditional ‘baraat’ fashion, while Sonia sported an old-fashioned caramel white Bentley as her transport of choice. Mohit’s procession on horseback was an interesting sight, of the bride & groom’s friends and family joining in on the song and dance, which you can preview in the Next-Day-Edit highlight reel.

For the introduction shot of the ‘Renaissance Hall’ at Château Le Jardin, Sonia & Mohit had an absolutely beautiful wedding aisle which was traced out by rose red flower petals and illuminated by extravagantly shaped candlelamps. a perfect venue shot which our videographers and cinematographers were compelled to showcase in the Next-Day-Edit highlight reel. Sonia & Mohit had a charmingly regal quality to them during the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. Wearing full velvet red and golden white garlands to match the wedding day’s colour theme, Sonia & Mohit were blessed in full ceremonial fashion and were happily pronounced husband and wife to the endearing cheer of the crowd, many of whom were understandably teary-eyed. To conclude the ceremony, the newlyweds drove away in Sonia’s Bentley to visit Toronto’s ‘BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir’ Hindu Temple for some gorgeous footage of the newly married couple amidst the Mandir’s intricate stone-white walls, and a denouement at Mohit’s doorstep in Caledon, in a perfect way to end the evening for the final day to follow.

For the third and final day of Sonia & Mohit’s wedding-weekend celebration, our videographers and cinematographers had returned to the Chateau Le Jardin for the evening reception as well as to showcase our cinematographers’ Next-Day-Edit specially made for the newlyweds. Funnily enough, Mohit and his brother were also ones to dabble in a bit of film-making of their own, as alongside our Next-Day-Edit presentation, Mohit had presented a neat short-film about Sonia & Mohit’s wedding, a curious kidnapping plot by the ‘Butter Chicken Bandits’, a humorous hostage negotiation, and Mohit to save his bride Sonia in a cute comedy clip that conjured up plenty of chuckles from the crowd. Needless to say, our videographers and cinematographers were quite impressed, and maybe a bit intimidated, by Mohit and his brother’s film-making prowess. Nevertheless, Sonia & Mohit’s final day lasted well until the early morning, and ended extravagantly what was an extravagant wedding-weekend for Sonia & Mohit, and for our videographers and cinematographers as well. In the end, we here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography and cinematography group, wish Sonia & Mohit plenty of more happy memories in store for the future, and hope that the two will always keep their wedding weekend’s humorous happenings, the happiness of the ceremony’s song and dance, and the unforgettable experience of their wedding celebration spent with their family and friends forever in their hearts throughout their lives together.
