The expression of an “old flame” to describe a love or friendship from long ago naturally draws parallel to a kindling fire that, as relationships sometimes do, eventually inflame quickly and burn out slowly. However, the truest test of a couple’s love for each other is finding and forging a way to rekindle that same burning passion, that once-in-a-lifetime initial spark, and forcefully resurfacing these same impassioned feelings out of each other like a phoenix born from the ashes. Thus formed the setting for the reunion of Fuhreen and Hassan two years ago, after what seemed like a lifetime of being apart. The couple, who were very close friends in high school, had amicably parted ways in pursuit of higher education. As time passed, Fuhreen had successfully become a doctor and Hassan an engineer. Now in their late twenties, with their years in education behind them and an entire life beyond the horizon, their reunion after many years meant a twist to these two threads torn apart by time. Two years later, these same threads of fate would become entangled in each others lives, brought further and further together, that they’d eventually find themselves in midst of their families and friends and tying the proverbial knot. We here at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography and cinematography group, find ourselves infatuated with stories like Fuhreen and Hassan’s, because they speak deeply to the nature of ‘love’, the grand motivator of what brings us all here, all together.

In a gorgeous three-day Pakistani wedding event earlier this month on May 3 to 5, 2014, Fuhreen and Hassan were happily wed at Mississauga’s Isna Masjid, with a two-day reception celebration afterward set in Candles Banquet Hall and The Grand Victorian Convention Centre in Mississauga. We were particularly pleased with the couples’ request of having our photobooth services available as well, and a next-day edit made post-haste by our videographers and video editors to be played on the third and final day to unanimous applause. For our videographers, the three-day trek of filming the perfect shots for Fuhreen and Hassan began on Friday morning, with separate videographers present to film the prep sessions for both bride and groom. Once finished, we made our way to Isna Masjid for the Nikah (Islamic wedding ceremony). Our videographers made sure to get the best possible shots of all the multicoloured wedding wears and varous South Asian vestments unique to Pakistani weddings, which you can spot in the next day edit, along with the ring exchange and other ceremonies. In particular, shots of the beautiful Islamic calligraphy and emphasis on the vibrant ornamentation were a nice touch for the next-day edit. Day two was indeed more energetic and livelier an atmosphere for shooting than the first. Set in Candles Banquet Hall on Saturday afternoon, our videographers made it a duty to film every moment of the bride and groom’s grand entrances into the hall, which again can be previewed in all its magnificence below. We especially enjoyed the lax and carefree environment of fun games, skits, dancing and entertainment care of the full and unbridled participation of the newlyweds’ family and friends.

For the third and final day, our video editors and videographers had diligently planned and crafted, over the past two nights, the next-day edit highlight reel to be played for Fuhreen and Hassan’s wedding celebration finale. Alongside tearful family speeches, our video was proudly played to the applause of the crowd, leaving us feeling overjoyed at a job well done in our contribution to Fuhreen and Hassan’s happiest moments with their loved ones. We also provided photobooth services with a special custom border design featuring a picture of the couple on individual printouts as per requested, which undoubtedly was a hit with the ever festive wedding celebrants. To sum it all up, we at SDE Weddings, Toronto’s premier wedding videography and cinematography group, found it a pleasure working with Fuhreen and Hassan in making their three-day wedding ceremonies and celebrations all the more memorable with our videography and cinematography work. We wish Fuhreen and Hassan a long and wonderful life in marriage, and hope that they keep the light of their love burning for years to come.
